A Celebration Framed Like a Film

Set against the historic architecture and lush gardens of Montalvo Arts Center, Qi and Wei’s wedding was inspired by a world they both know intimately—film.

Rather than interpreting cinema as a literal theme, we wove it quietly throughout the celebration. Vintage film reels, a clapperboard, ticket-inspired details, and cinematic paper goods appeared alongside romantic garden florals, handwritten calligraphy, candlelight, and softly layered tablescapes.

Ivory, blush and peach created a delicate foundation, while vivid red, burgundy, garden green and deep blue-gray brought richness and contrast to the palette. The result felt romantic and timeless, with just enough drama to give each setting its own distinct mood.

From the garden ceremony to an intimate reception filled with flowers, fruit, and candlelight, each part of the day unfolded like a new scene—personal, artful, and full of character.

A celebration where their world behind the camera became part of the story in front of it.
