A MODERN GARDEN BY THE SEA

Yuchen and Haowei’s wedding at The Ritz-Carlton Oahu, Turtle Bay was designed around a quiet, modern interpretation of an island garden. Rather than introducing bold tropical color, we drew from the landscape itself—soft sand, layered greens, creamy neutrals, and sculptural white florals—allowing the natural beauty of O‘ahu’s North Shore to remain at the center of the celebration.

White orchids, calla lilies, hydrangeas, and organic greenery brought movement and dimension to the ceremony and reception. Clean silhouettes and softly layered tablescapes kept the design refined, while woven textures, natural materials, and subtle green details gave the celebration warmth and an effortless connection to its surroundings.

Throughout the day, modern stationery and thoughtful details carried the palette from one space to the next. Against the open lawn, swaying palms, and expansive Hawaiian sky, the restrained color story felt fresh rather than minimal—letting texture, form, and the landscape create the visual interest.

As evening arrived, Yuchen’s vibrant red reception look introduced an unexpected burst of color against the soft greens and neutrals of the design. The contrast felt striking and celebratory, bringing a new energy to the evening while allowing the wedding’s calm, organic foundation to remain beautifully intact.
