A ROMANCE IN MOTION

Yuwen and Xiaodong’s wedding at Andaz Maui at Wailea was designed around a simple idea: rather than fighting the island’s ocean breeze, we chose to embrace it. Flowing ivory fabric framed their ceremony, moving naturally with the wind and bringing a sense of softness and movement to the oceanfront setting.

Romantic garden florals in blush, peach, lavender, and lilac added delicate color against Maui’s vivid landscape. Light textures and thoughtfully layered details created an atmosphere that felt dreamy, playful, and effortlessly connected to its surroundings.

Storytelling was woven throughout the celebration. A personalized welcome board highlighted the couple’s milestones and shared adventures, while their seating chart and table numbers continued the narrative, turning meaningful memories into part of the guest experience. Each guest also received a custom illustrated portrait as their place card—a playful, unexpected detail that quickly became a favorite and a keepsake to take home.

From the fabric dancing in the ocean breeze to the personal stories waiting at every table, the celebration felt alive with movement, creativity, and connection. Every detail reflected not only how Yuwen and Xiaodong envisioned their wedding, but the journey that brought them there.
